It has been a few days now since the arrived of the first wave of humans to Kaevar, with their scent thick in the air, more and more Pangorea's are coming forth to meet these strange creatures. Some are fearful and shy but most are welcoming to these new creatures. The kind animals have explained what they can of their world, but words are not always enough, as the humans wish to experience it. So their adventure with their new found Pangorean friends begins. Exploring their forest home and looking around for all the natural goodies the Pangorea's spoke of, and even some sent from the gods themselves.
When the rift appeared and humans entered the world of Kaevar many things became unknown. The humans did not know if they would survive, let alone the native inhabitants of that world. All that was known is that each step forward would be a new adventure, one of joy or fear depended upon where each careful step was placed. What the humans make of this world is up to them and their Pangorean companions...no matter what...it will be interesting...
~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome one and all to our first official Kaevari role-play. Here you can role-play as your favourite Kaevarian friend and/or a human, it is completely up to you. The paragraphs above provide your introduction to this role-play, to give you a setting and background before we begin.
As with most role-plays there are a few rules everyone must obey or risk warnings from the MODs, they are as follows:
No God Modding (no being crazy over powered or trying to control other peoples characters) This has to be kept PG 13 as per PI's rules No one liners
That is it. The rest is up to your creativity and that of everyone else who participates. Anyone can join, and anyone can jump in whenever they want to as long as they stick to what is going on at that moment in the role-play.
Have fun~
Deciding to take the trip through the rift and into the new world was not an easy one for Sarah, she had barely been at her new job for a few months before she came across the opportunity. She was never one for a boring life behind a desk though so she leapt at the chance. Going through was easy, the forest and sea filled her nostrils with their sweet scents and the air rushing across her fair skin was cool to the touch. Once they moved into the forest however, things got a little tougher. Sarah may not of wanted to live a boring life, but that didn't mean she was...equipped for an adventurous one. Almost karate chopping a tree on more then one occasion when she mistook it for an evil being.
Not to mention the amount of times she tripped over her own feet or something really obviously obstructing the path in front of her. To say she was un-coordinated would be a serious understatement. With her rather small physique she blended into the crowd of humans walking around this great big forest, her orange hair her and pale skin her only distinct features. It was this orange hair that caught the eye of one particular Pangorea, who had been following the group of humans for some time. Unlike the majority of her kind who had readily gone up to this group of fleshy creatures, this particular Pangorea was a little bit more weary. However, when she caught sight of the bright orange hair of Sarah, she instantly wanted it.
Not the human of course, oh no, its fur. As such during the dead of night, whilst all the humans and their Pangorean friends slept this sneaky Pangorea crept into their camp. Keeping low, bouncing from paw to paw and zigzagging across the camp like the 'skilful' ninja she was. Ridiculous looking was more like it. Not only was she pink, white and blue...but she had the same amount of co-ordination as the human who owners that patch of fur she wanted so badly. As she crept over to the 'sleeping' human she got low to the ground, crawling ever so slowly closer.
Opening her jaw to finally bite down of the bright patch of 'fur' Sarah quickly whipped around with a sudden "BOO!". Sending the bright Pangorea into a frenzy of fail, in which she ended up with her head somehow stuck inside a hollow tree stump, unable to pull it back out.
"C-Can I have some help?" she whispered out to Sarah, leaving Sarah looking left and right wondering where that voice had come from. "You! You! Fleshy thing with the bright tuff of fur! Help me get free!" The voice whispered again through her ears and the bright wolf continued to attempt to pull her head free.
"How...are you doing that?" Sarah asked as she finally came to the realisation that the voice, was from the wolf like creature. Walking towards the stuck beast she eased her hand in beside its head, gave a small push and pull and the creatures head was free. "How did you do that?" Sarah asked the wolf again.
"This is how we communicate, through our thoughts" the colourful wolf explained. "My name is Seraphina, for saving my life, I am in your debt and would ask to accompany you and your friends on your journey to repay this debt" she continued as she gave a low bow of her head. Her horn, protruding from the centre of her forehead, catching a gleam of moonlight.
"O-Of course" Sarah responded, not sure how else one would respond to such a request...from an animal at that.
Skye could hardly contain the bliss that swelled up in her. This new land was so... mysterious, so strange, so refreshing! Life as a research biologist had taken to every nook and cranny of the world; to get the chance to greet a new land and new beings such as the Pangoria was not something she would have turned down for the life of her. The skies here were different from what she was used to, as if deeper, older. The land was lush and filled with unusual, yet beautiful vegetation and the wolf like creatures that mingled within the group were simply astounding. Tying back her dark brown dreadlocks, Skye took in a deep breath, a smile creeping across her face, much like it had been the entire trip. As her eyes scanned the group and the foreign surroundings, she noticed a large male. The leaf like overcoat the creature wore took on a silvery tone while the lower part of his coat was as black as the most starless of nights. He walked with his head held high, his muscular body striding fluidly, as if each step had been practised a thousand times before.
"Oh my.." Skye thought to herself. "What a stunning animal! He must be in his prime, his coat seems to have a youthful lustre about it, yet his bulk and build indicates he's been given the years needed to fully mature. Stunning. Just stunning." She reached into her backpack, her blue eyes remaining trained on the magnificent animal, and retrieved her camera and notebook. Snapping a few silent photos, she began making notes about the potential anatomy of the animal. "In my 24 years of life, I never imagined I'd end up in a mysterious land striding amidst such creatures." She thought again, her smile widening further, as if that was even possible.
"And in all my years I never imagined I'd be in the company of the fleshy ones, nevermind one with such unusual fur... were you not taught of grooming?" Somehow, without her noticing, the black creature had made its way to her side. As his voice filled the space in her mind she felt a strange chill, a mix of violation and awe. "Fear not, this is how we communicate, you'll get used to it soon enough."
Skye stuttered mentally a few times before collecting her thoughts enough to respond. "Right, I suppose it would make sense that intelligent beings like yourself would have some interspecies form of communication... and uhm, well actually, they're supposed to be all knotted like this. They're called dreadlocks, you see? I don't have to worry about brushing or styling or maintaining my hair any more. They simply grow in the way they were supposed to."
"Hmm.... If that is what you feel is best. Our kind would shutter at the idea of not grooming... we take great pride in our appearance, among other things. We aim to look and act our best at all times."
"Well, that's not a bad set of rules. If humans aimed for the same thing I think our world would be alot better off. Say, what may I call you? My name is Skye."
"I am Shade." As time progressed, the two continued to delve into the worlds and mind of one another, learning and exploring.
Tribby was not necessarily one to have 'grace' when going to new places. The blue haired, glasses wearing person was usually one to not want to do new things. But hey. Tribby will bite at least this once, right?
So Tribby went through the portal with other humans. What did Tribby have to offer? She was going as a sketch artist for the new wildlife they would see. Tribby liked to doodle and the 'folks' all back 'home' would want to see everything the people chosen to go across the portal would. So being the only person in the area--where Tribby came from-- was volunteered to go.
So upon arrival, Tribby quietly walked forward, looking around the area. It was definitely beautiful. Tribby couldn't help but wonder, should they really be here? Humans were known to be careless about their environment. Tribby would hate to see the beautiful land destroyed by humans thinking it had to be modernized.
But that thought was left for another day as Tribby noticed others getting greeted by what looked like some kind of canine, with what looked like pangolin scales on their back. Quite interesting in deed! So in silence, Tribby found a stump to sit on and started to sketch the interactions of these creatures with the people making it through the portals.
Up in the air a shimmering visage flitted, gliding this way and that as it caught the steady updrifts of wind. Near luminescent blue eyes peered down curiously as these strange, practically furless ape-like creatures stumbled out of the rift that had opened some time ago. 'How strange...' a soft voice thought to itself before the beautiful winged creature glided down, landing without a sound behind the 'strange ape' that seemed to be drawing something. Peering over the female's shoulder those large blue eyes stare for a moment in silence. "Do all you funny ape-things do this?" a gentle voice queried as a large blue and yellow winged wolf like creature came around from behind the woman, moving now to sit in front of her, "Are all of your kind as talented as you?" Slowly she tilted her head to the side, curious eyes staring at the woman as thought the creature sought to peer into her soul. * --- * --- * --- * A rascally little neon coloured pup dashed by, yipping and yapping as happily as can be, before it proceeded to chase it's own tail for a moment. Finally catching the dastardly thing it grinned as it's eyes fell upon one of these new 'human things' that had funny, clumpy fur. Pouncing at the human thing the pup gently tugged at the 'clumpy fur' before pawing at it and staring in awe. "Oh wowza! What strange fur you have! Oh yes yes yes!" the pup chirped cheerily. Dipping into a little leather satchel it withdrew a small stone coin looking object before dumping it into the woman's lap with another cheery grin. "Here! Take this! Consider it a welcome present. Yeah, yeah, yeah! There's this old male back in my village, he owns a boat! Sometimes he'll ferry people across to this beeeaaauuutiful island where there's this huuuuge totem orb thingy that the Gods listen to!" Explaining in a flurry of paw waving and excited yaps the pup continued, "See cause the Gods like to listen to us, but they're kind of funny. You can find these little tokens all over the world, but they're not all stone! Oh no! You can get some prettier ones, too! The better looking the token, or the more expensive the thing you put into the big glowy orb thing, the better chance you have at the Gods giving you something super fun and amazing! Last time I went I got this nifty glowing necklace!" Beaming proudly the pup batted at the glowstick about it's neck to draw attention to it, "But I've heard stories of people getting flowers and fruit, even mushrooms! And sometimes the gods are really wacky, and out will pop a brand new Kaevarian! Pretty cool, right? Well, I have more new people to great but, I hope you have good luck with that token! I look forwards to seeing you around!" And with that the pup was gone, scampering off in an excited gallop and disappearing into the shrubbery of the forest.
Yilla, sat in a clump of bushes watching the strange two legged creatures fumbling about. She couldn't help but be fascinated by them, they were so very strange. No scales and only a small patch of fur on their heads. She watched as other adults of her kind started interacting with these strange creatures. She couldn't help giggling a little as one adult Seraphina got her head stuck in a tree stump. One of the strangers came to her aid and Yilla lost interest as they started talking. She looked around noting their different scents and fur colour. She couldn't help wondering if they all looked so similar and wondered where they had come from. She watched as a dark coloured male Shade approached another and again struck up a conversation. It seemed that the adults trusted them, so perhaps they might be safe. She crept out of the bushes a little. Most of them were grouped together. She didn't feel quite brave enough to approach them yet. She then noticed one sat off a little ( Tibby). Unlike the others it had blue hair. It seemed to be scratching on something with a stick. Fascinated she crept closer her delicate nose twitching, picking up every scent. Her little ears alert to every sounds, eyes wary of every movement around her, but mostly her senses were focused on the strange creature ahead of her. She wondered how good their senses were and how close she could get before she was noticed. Before she could get very far a large blue female popped out from behind the thing. She froze where she was, not sure what to do. As she stared she noticed with surprise that this adult had little feathery wings, just like birds, she wondered if she could fly. Wouldn't that be amazing. Still in wonderment she was nearly squished by another pup that bounded by. She pulled her ears back flat, not overly impressed. *Edited for magically appearing post*
Psamathe sketchWhen Psamathe made her way into Kaever, she hadn't known what to expect. A demi-god, though with no powers in Kaevar, Psamathe had been able to make her way into this world a few days before the humans to follow. She'd grown tired of her tragic life and story back on earth, and had wanted to escape. With no powers, she was simply an ordinary human - as she had always wanted. However she found that in her first few days on Kaevar, she hadn't seen a single Pangorea. It appeared as if they were still slightly wary of they're new human companion. On her third day in Kaevar, Psamathe was beginning to imagine scenario's of starving to death. After all, she knew nothing of this world without a companion. It was just as she was beginning to truly feel despair, that she happened across a group of humans and Pangorea. Clearly, she had managed to discover the portal the humans were entering through. Hanging back, hoping to blend in and raise no questions as to how she got there, that was how Psamathe almost stumbled across what appeared to be a pink and black pup Pangorea. If that was the correct terminology. Kit perhaps? She'd have to find out. "Oh my goodness, are you okay?" she asked worriedly, hoping she hadn't managed to step on the pups tail, "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."
Tay was not a very sturdy person and being the unforgetful person that she is, Tay was late stepping through the portal. Upon entry Tay lost her balance when her past injury caused her leg to give out, causing her to stumble and fall. Landing on a patch of squishyness, Tay looked around and noticed how magnificant kaevar was! Picking herself up, Tay found a log to sit against to rest after her tumble, and quietly observed the interactions between the present humans and these magnificant creature that had such gorgous... scales? Wow, shiny. Looking around more, she noticed Tribbler was paying alot of attention to her sketch pad.
Tribby was sketching away, working on getting a particular tree down now that she had a fee sketches of the amazing creatures. But one popped up behind her making Tribby tense up. Startled and caught off guard, Tribby slowly looked at this new creature.
Tribby couldn't help but gasp at the beautiful colors, and even though it might not of been kosher, Tribby moved forward enough, but the question made Tribby draw up short. As talented as she was? Tribby laughed softly, smiling warmly, and shook her head, "I would not call myself talented at all for these silly little doodles, there are so many way better than I." she smiled still, watching the beautiful creature. "Would you be upset if I asked if I can sketch you and your beautiful wings?" Tribby still smiled, flipping to a new page in her sketch book. The tree could wait, it shouldn't be going anywhere after all!
[If this part was not directed at me, let me know and I'll edit <3] Hand holding the pencil, poised to sketch,when something was attacking her own blue hair and made her eep. Looking down at the much smaller version of the creature before her she smiled. "Are you a puppy?" She asked smiling warmly. Tribby gave a quiet nod as the little one went on about the thing that was dropped into her lap. Tribby picked it up curiously looking at it. Very interesting in deed! Tribby flipped it over before looking back to the pup, "Why thank you little one. And that is a very Beautiful necklace you have!"
Tribby smiled giving a nod, "Yes indeed, very cool!" she agreed, and watched as the little one said good byes then vanished off in the shrubbery. Turning to look back to the beautiful blue and winged one before her, her eyes caught sight of another pup, Tribby winced a bit when another human tripped over the little one, and Tribby glanced to the blue one, "Lets... go see if they're okay?" she offered with a gentle smile to the blue one.. Oh, right, "My name is Tribbler, but most call me Tribby, what may I call you?"
Yilla was so busy looking at the other strange creature and Pangorea that she failed to notice the new ones arrival. She yelped in shock when it nearly stood on her. She dashed off behind the nearest bush. It took her a few moments to settle her nerves and to realise that it had spoken to her. " Ummmm, it's alright. I'm okay. As long as you didn't mean it" Still a little wary of these new creatures, but curious too. She crept back out a little so that her nose and part of her muzzle were visible. " What are you. I've never seen anything like you before in these forests?"
OOC: Wow mickeyymouse that sketch of Psamathe is amazing
